There are many important roles at Pet for Paws and each one is key to helping cats and dogs in need. If you think you may have something to contribute to the rescue – whether it be a skill, connections, funding or just some extra time, we could use your help!

Much needed roles

Media Content Creator

Hours: Flexible (any weekday & weekend 9:30am-7pm)

Commitment required: Minimum one day a week.

The role
As a media content creator, you’ll create engaging content such as photos and videos for our social media platforms to highlight our organization’s mission, activities, and successes, aiming to increase awareness, encourage adoptions, and solicit donations.
Expectations
You will need to have your own camera, and be available on a weekly basis. An eye for detail is important to make the animals look as good as they possibly can to help them find their forever homes. A positive attitude and love for all animals is a must!

Cat Attendant

Hours: Between 9AM-3PM (3-4 hour shifts)

Commitment required: 1 day a week or every other week

The role
As a cat room attendant, you would help maintain a clean and healthy environment for the felines. This includes cleaning litter boxes, feeding, changing water, sanitizing surfaces, and monitoring the cats’ behavior or health to alert team members to any problems.
Expectations
Come prepared to interact with the cats but be mindful and respect their space. They are not all friendly! It is essential to approach the tasks with enthusiasm and a willingness to learn and improve, ultimately ensuring that the cats receive the best care possible.

Database Entry

The role
Accurate and up-to-date data entry is essential for an effective animal rescue operations. As a volunteer doing database entry you will be responsible for recording and organizing important information such as medical histories, behavior, and adoption status.
Expectations
This role requires a 2-3 day/week commitment to ensure that animal information is kept up to date. You will be responsible for entering data into a spreadsheet and sharing it with other team members to ensure that the animals receive the best care possible.

Bookkeeper

Hours: Between 9AM-3PM (3-4 hour shifts)

Commitment required: 1 day a week or every other week

The role
As a volunteer bookkeeper you would be responsible for maintaining financial records of transactions related to animal care, adoption fees, and fundraising activities. This will include working alongside other team members to ensure proper financial management.
Expectations
You will be required to visit the organization on a weekly basis to gather financial information for generating reports. Some work can be done remotely. Proficiency in Excel will be necessary for creating reports that are easily understood by other team members.

Event Planning

Hours: Between 9AM-3PM (3-4 hour shifts)

Commitment required: 1 day a week or every other week

The role
You will organize events that promote the rescue’s mission and raise operational funds. You will work with the executive director, volunteers, and vendors, to effectively communicating the rescue’s message to attendees at adoption events, workshops and fundraising galas.
Expectations
This is a versatile role that encompasses event planning, promotion, and team coordination. This includes overseeing raffle/silent auction requests, sponsorship requests, and coordinating volunteers. Organization and attention to detail are crucial skills in this role.

Pet for Paws is a 501(c)3 organization with a No-Kill Advocacy, Wellness and Learning Center. We focus on saving cats and dogs from high-kill shelters, finding them their right homes, and provide education about animal care and advocacy.

Volunteering takes place during business hours: Mon–Sat 9am–7pm if you are working at our facility. However, some administrative and fundraising activity may be performed at your home at your convenience.

General Volunteer Form
































    I am a volunteer performing certain services for petforpaws Rescue and Adoption Alliance, herein called 'FFRAA'. I understand and agree these services charitable in nature and are entirely voluntary and that I will receive no compensation of any kind. I understand that FFRAA volunteers are covered as additional insured's on FFRAA'S Commercial Liability Insurance and that this insurance will only protect me for claims made against me, injuries or property damage I cause that arise out of duties performed within the scope of my volunteer job description for FFRAA. This is liability insurance and does NOT cover injuries to myself. Additionally, I may be personally liable to injured parties if injuries result from my negligence. I understand FFRAA does NOT maintain automobile insurance for volunteers. I must maintain and provide proof to FFRAA of my own automobile liability insurance. FFRAA's insurance does NOT pay any damage done to volunteer vehicles while being driven on FFRAA business. I will indemnify, hold harmless, release and defend FFRAA from and against any and all action, claims, damages, disabilities or expenses that may be asserted by any person or entity arising out of or in connection with my participation as a volunteer for FFRAA (Example: injury from an animal bite or injury resulting from equipment hauling). This statement is executed freely and voluntarily and with full knowledge by the undersigned. It is the policy of FFRAA to provide opportunities for volunteer service to all qualified persons regardless of race, color, creed, national origin, ancestry, age, sex, disability, religion, citizenship, marital status, sexual preference or any other characteristics protected by law.
